An autopsy will be performed this afternoon (17 May) on the body of Cristian Caruso, the 15-year-old who lost his life following a dive into the condominium swimming pool of the “Fontana Bleu” complex in Castel Volturno yesterday morning (16 May). The forensic doctor Edoardo Mazzini carried out the unrepeatable technical assessment as ordered by the deputy prosecutor Oriana Zona. From an initial external examination of Cristian’s body, it would appear that the drowning was caused by congestion. Only the results of the autopsy will shed light on the causes of the 15-year-old’s death.
Cristian was in the company of a group of his peers, celebrating a birthday. He dived and never resurfaced. His lifeless body resurfaced from the water. His companions jumped into the pool and dragged him out. They tried to revive him in every way but there was nothing to be done, his heart stopped beating. When 118 was alerted, the health workers could not help but confirm the death of the young man.
The investigative activity of the local police continues. Already being examined by the military, the testimonies of the group of friends as well as the investigations into the ‘open’ access to the condominium swimming pool and after the opening of a file at the Prosecutor’s Office, the registration of some suspects is not excluded. The swimming pool was seized.
