In recent days, the Yellow Flames of Vercelli have intensified, at the disposal of the Provincial Command, the controls aimed at combating any crimes relating to the marketing of energy products.
In this context, a patrol on duty 117 in the capital he caught the manager of a roadside fuel distributor intent on the illicit activity of “filling” directly from the car supply system, thanks to a metal adapter, of a LPG cylinder for domestic use provided by an occasional customer and placed dangerously in the trunk of his car.
The reckless operation, convenient exclusively from an economic point of view, expressly violates both the sector regulations and the rigorous safety requirements which require the bottling of gas for domestic use by authorized and specialized companies in order to guarantee the limits of filling required by law.
The cylinder – containing LPG which without the intervention of the financiers would have been used for various domestic uses – was seized and entrusted to a company specialized in the possession of explosive and flammable materials in order to avoid the risk of accidental explosions.
The operator of the road fuel system and the customer have been reported to the Prefecture/UTG of Vercelli for the possible imposition of administrative sanctions following the verification of the violation of the art. 18 of Legislative Decree 128/2006.
It should be underlined that LPG cylinders for domestic use require periodic inspections at authorized facilities while their filling at a roadside distributor authorized to refuel vehicle tanks, in addition to being prohibited by law, it can lead to exceeding the safety limits of the container’s capacity with the real danger of explosion or fire.
