“Good food and flavours, an opportunity for tourism”

The festival of Ferrara culinary culture and hospitality celebrated on the ‘Catering Day’. This is the second edition of the event promoted by the national Fipe Confcommercio which sees the patronage of four ministries of Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Made in Italy and Tourism and intends to celebrate the value of culture, welcome and hospitality expressed by the catering sector. The mayor of Ferrara Alan Fabbri spoke at the launch yesterday morning at the ‘Quel fantastic Thursday’ restaurant in Ferrara: “Through the commitment of Ascom Confcommercio, our city also joins this initiative, thus enhancing the values ​​of our tradition and of our cuisine. And precisely to make Ferrara more and more hospitable, important actions have been launched in recent years, such as the adoption by the Municipality of the new regulation on the expanses, created in collaboration with all the trade associations, and the many events in squares dedicated to food and the restaurant sector. These are all actions aimed at improving social life in the city, enhancing its high tourist and attractive potential”. A day which aims to promote local catering in Ferrara by joining a broader initiative represented by the second edition of the National Catering Day promoted by Fipe Confcommercio and scheduled for 18 May, with the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Agriculture. “As Fipe Confcommercio we intended – added Matteo Musacci, provincial president of the Italian Federation of Public Businesses and national vice-president of the same Federation – to highlight a series of activities that were representative of our territory, enhancing the gastronomic peculiarities that these realities express in a unequivocal. The aim is to highlight the culture of hospitality and good food by showing the daily work and passion of a selection of our local restaurateurs”. In order to promote Ferrara catering, a video was created with some testimonials. In detail, these are ‘La Comacina’ by the Carli family in Comacchio, ‘la capanna di Eraclio’ by the Soncini family, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Codigoro, ‘That fantastic Thursday’ by Mara Farinelli in Ferrara, a restaurant reported by the Michelin guide. Then ‘Pizzeria Ciro’s’ by the Cositore family in Ferrara, ‘Cavalieri Ducati’ by the Malagoli family in Cento and ‘Prestige’ pastry shop by the Cascio family in Cento. “An initiative that aims to bring to everyone’s attention the fabric of our catering, an authentic value throughout the province with important points of excellence – summarizes Davide Urban, general director of Confcommercio Ferrara – examples of professionalism and a passion for to be rightly proud of and who deserve a showcase through this Day”.
