“Once again the Regions prove to be compact, collaborative and with a high sense of responsibility to address an issue, that of maritime state concessions, which is also fundamental in light of the upcoming start of the bathing season. We will formally ask the Government to do its utmost short time possible to develop a rule to face the next summer season and those to come with serenity and certainty, thus giving further time to the legislator to carry out a constructive discussion with the European Union which, if consulted, has always demonstrated listen and possibly accept the proposals of the member states”. Thus the councilor for State Maritime Property of the Liguria Region at the end of the meeting called for today in Rome as coordinator of the Table on the matter of the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces with all the councilors to the Maritime State Property Office of the Italian coastal regions (all participating in person or by video conference) and the competent technicians, to take stock of the current situation and possible future developments on the topic of maritime state property concessions.
All this in light of the technical table convened on the same topic by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers for 20 May and 12 June.
“We have carried out a survey of the information coming from all the Italian territories – declares the councilor for Maritime State Property of the Liguria Region and coordinator of the Table of the Conference of the Regions on the subject – and the summary sees an overall similar situation, in which first of all the Municipalities live in the difficulty of not being able to refer to national regulations. However, as Regions we reiterate how politics should be dictate the path to be taken and we cannot, every time, depend on the expressions, however authoritative, of the aforementioned Council of State. In all this the Regions demand greater involvement – concludes the Ligurian councilor – to be collaborative and support the Government. in the difficult treatment of a topic that politics has underestimated for too many years and which today cannot fail to be central in the action of the executive and territorial administrations”.
