The Reclamation Consortium takes part in the ANBI National Reclamation and Irrigation Week with numerous events from 18 to 26 May.

Awards ceremonies, guided tours and an original exhibition on the theme of water dedicated to adults and children.

The first scheduled appointments will have the participants as protagonists of Reporters in the classroom, a journalistic project promoted by the newspaper La Nazione. Young people who try their hand at the journalistic world are rewarded for their articles on 16/05 and 22/05 respectively in Empoli and Florence.

With its contribution, ANBI Toscana was the sponsor of the project as it believes in the importance of spreading knowledge of the territory. The opportunity it offers to young participants is to be able to talk about increasingly current issues through their point of view: such as climate change and the protection of rivers and biodiversity.

There Castelletti expansion tank 20/05 will be the place to celebrate World Bee Day. Pupils from local schools will participate in activities and workshops to learn more about the life and importance of small pollinators.

This will not be the only expansion tank that will see activity this week given the appointment scheduled on expansion tanks and Mensola park, dated 22/05. The guided tour will be the conclusion of the educational journey whose “teacher” is Mr. CBMV who tells the story and secrets of the rivers and streams of the Middle Valdarno, accompanied by the students of the Florentine schools who have joined the “The keys to the cities” project.

The Reclamation Week will end with an event at the Consortium headquarters in Viale della Toscana 21 in Florence on 05/23. An exhibition about “Bonds of water” – which can be freely visited during office opening hours – which aims to underline and deepen the broad and profound links of reclamation with environments, living beings and “water” courses. At the end of the exhibition the children will be able to express their idea of water with drawings or stories, the creations will become part of the exhibition and will be kept by the Consortium.
