Death in Sant’Eraclio: 30-year-old Senegalese man found lifeless at home

Profound sadness pervaded the community of Sant’Eraclio yesterday following the tragic death of a thirty-year-old of Senegalese origins, who died in his home. The cause of death appears to be natural or resulting from a domestic accident. The young man’s colleagues discovered what had happened, worried about his absence at work.

Not seeing him arrive, his colleagues went to the 30-year-old’s home. Getting no answer at the door, they tried to call him on his cell phone, hearing the phone ringing inside the apartment. At that point, the intervention of the authorities was necessary. The police, including the anti-crime and forensic departments, arrived on site to carry out all the necessary investigations.

Once they entered the apartment, writes Giovanni Camirri in today’s Il Messaggero, the officers found the young man lifeless in the bathroom. There were no signs of forced entry, and the door was locked from the inside. No signs of violence were found on the 30-year-old’s body, nor are there any elements that suggest the intervention of a third person. We are therefore leaning towards an accidental death, which prematurely ended the life of the young Senegalese, who arrived in Sant’Eraclio in search of work.

The pain of this loss deeply touched the entire community, including those who had known the young man. An acquaintance described him as “a golden boy, a hard worker. He knew how to make everyone love him and had affection for everyone.” The area where he lived, near the castle of Sant’Eraclio, was reached by numerous people, including colleagues, friends and acquaintances, all sharing a deep sense of mourning.

The medical examiner arrived on site to carry out the necessary tests. The causes of death could be attributable to a sudden illness or a fatal fall in the bathroom. Once the necessary procedures have been completed, the body will be returned to the family, and initiatives have already been launched to contribute to the funeral costs.
