The pirate who allegedly hit an elderly man last Friday has been traced. This is an 81-year-old from Macerata, found thanks to investigations by the traffic police. The episode occurred around 7.40pm. The 81-year-old was at the wheel of his small car in Borgo San Giuliano, but he had not noticed a pedestrian – an eighty-year-old from the area – who was crossing the road, had hit him causing him to fall and had continued his run, without stopping to help him . Luckily there were other people there who had called 118 and notified the police. The Polstrada and Volante officers had arrived at Fosse to investigate what happened. The traffic police tracked down a witness who was able to give directions to the car that had hit the pedestrian. Thanks to the clues provided, the officers managed to trace the driver, the 81-year-old also from Macerata. The man has therefore been reached for now by the administrative measures of the case, in relation to the driving licence. But he is also facing charges for the crime of failure to provide assistance. Luckily, the almost contemporary man hit by the 81-year-old got away with a six-day prognosis for the mishap he suffered. After initial treatment in hospital, the elderly man was discharged and sent home.
