Elio, passion for opera. Today the meeting on ‘Don Giovanni’

While waiting for Mozart’s ‘Don Giovanni’ (on stage from 26 May), the appointment with ‘Parliamo d’Opera’ returns, today at 6.30 pm at the Manzoni. Guest will be Elio, defined by Rolling Stones as “the Italian Frank Zappa”, he is a flautist, singer-songwriter, comedian, actor and writer, especially known as the frontman of the famous group Elio e le Storie tese, with whom he will soon be on tour again. The artist is also an opera enthusiast and made his debut as an opera singer at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro in 1998 in Isabella, a teen-opera by Azio Corghi from Italiana in Algiers. Since then he has been very committed to popularizing classical music among young people. Journalists Luca Baccolini and Pierfrancesco Pacoda, curator of the event, spoke with him. The words will be interspersed with music: the bass Zheng Wang – engaged in Don Giovanni’s serenade ‘Deh, come to the window’ – and the baritone Bryan Sala – who sings Leporello’s aria ‘Madamina, il catalog è questo’ – will bring the audience in the heart of Mozart’s opera, accompanied on the piano by Amedeo Salvato. Entry is free with booking on Eventbrite.
