One year after the tragic flood events, the Popolo della Famiglia returns to ask for the naming of a public space after the victims of the 2023 flood in all the Romagna municipalities affected by the tragedy.
Mirko De Carli, Candidate for the European Parliament with the Libertà List (North Eastern constituency), National Councilor of Il Popolo della Famiglia, Municipal Councilor of Riolo Terme, comments: “One year after the flood our first thoughts go to those in those dramatic hours he lost his life. 17 citizens to whom the institutions must honor.”
Alessandro Vitali, municipal manager of Il Popolo della Famiglia in Faenza and regional secretary of the PDF youth movement, continues: “We had already made the Faentina administration aware last October 2023 of the need to be able to remember those who paid the price of their lives for ‘huge tragedy.”
“So that what happened is not forgotten – De Carli and Vitali continue in the note – we ask all the municipalities affected by the flood to dedicate a public space to the victims of the 2023 flood events.
We must train the families of those who are no longer here and our communities, for which remembrance must be a fundamental sensitivity.
We hope that our invitation will be taken with seriousness and commitment by the municipal administrations. Indeed, we believe that this tragedy and its victims should not be forgotten.”
