An informal conversation with the associate professor of Contemporary History at the Department of Historical Studies of the University of Milan, to address a delicate topic such as religious pluralism in today’s Italy, analyzing from a historical perspective the contested affirmation of religious freedom in our country .

Paolo Zanini is associate professor of Contemporary History at the Department of Historical Studies of the University of Milan. In his research he has dealt with the Italian Catholic world of the twentieth century, with particular reference to the progressive components, the Middle Eastern policy of the Holy See and the Vatican’s attitude towards Zionism and Arab nationalism and the question of religious freedom in Italy, with particular reference to Catholic anti-Protestantism in the first half of the twentieth century.
