THE Foundation of the “OLIVARIOS” Olive Quality Agro-Food District, with a view to promoting the olive-growing excellence of the area, promoted a day of tasting of extra virgin olive oil, produced in the olive-growing territories of Sassari and neighboring municipalities combined with the Pecorino Romano DOP cheese produced with raw milk, one of a kind. The tasting event will take place on Saturday 18 May 2024 from 10 am to 7 pm in Sassari at the “CITTA DEL FIORE” GARDEN in Via Buddi Buddi, 40, with free entry.

The tasting event called “DEGUSTA SASSARI” is for the moment unique in its kind, says the President of the DAQ OLIVARIOS Foundation Tore Piana, where we try to combine the excellence of extra virgin olive oil production with the main cheese produced in Sardinia, Pecorino Romano Dop and in particular that produced from raw milk. Two products that in Sardinia are among the productive excellences of the Isola agri-food industry.

The pairing also arises from looking at the story, which has always seen the two productions interact with each other. We have also hypothesized the launch of a project with Sardinian research bodies, to study and experiment with health and organoleptic combinations. The event is part of a regional promotion program of the DAQ Olivarios Foundation, which sees Sassari as the first stop, and then replicates the event in Oristano and the Cagliari area as per the decision of the Foundation’s Board of Directors”, concludes President Tore Piana
