Porta del Castello, thanks above all to the points obtained with the historical procession, succeeded in the historic comeback reaching 78 points. Just one length behind Porta Nova and Porta del Serrone, in fourth place Porta Portella at 75.
The Palio at Porta Castello
The archer Mirko Staffaroni had the privilege of lighting the splendid “Focaraccio” with his flaming arrow.
In the “ciurumella” instead the results were completely reversed with Porta del Serrone, of the duo Francesco Ridolfi Bizzarri-Luca Moriconi, who prevailed in the final against Leonardo Berettoni and Gioele Berettini of Porta del Castello.
FOSSATO DI VICO – It ended with the triumph of Castle Gate the 27th edition of the Festa degli Statuti. After 11 long years of waiting, punctuated by two excellent victories in the prize “Luigi Galassi” in 2018 and 2019, the yellow colors invaded and colored Piazza San Sebastiano when the winning goal was announced.

A flood of visitors crossed the streets of the historic center, remaining enchanted by the beauty of the historic premises, the churches, the taverns, taken care of down to the smallest detail by the porters. The ancient crafts were evocative and relevant as always, and the historical procession which enlivened the Saturday evening of the festival was also a great success.
Returning to the results, the historic archery competition on Friday evening saw the victory of Porta Portella who overcame Porta Nova in the play-off. To the archer Mirko Staffaroni therefore the privilege of lighting the splendid “Focaraccio” with his flaming arrow.
Statutes Day 2024
In the “ciurumella” instead results completely reversed with Serrone Gateof the duo Francesco Ridolfi Bizzarri–Luca Moriconiwho prevailed in the final against Leonardo Berettoni and Gioele Berettini from Porta del Castello.
The ranking after the games decreed a great balance with Porta del Serrone in the lead with 15 points, followed by Porta Portella with 13, Porta Nova with 12 and Porta del Castello with 10. As often happened in the past, it was the judgment of historians to make the difference by upsetting the final ranking.

The joy and enthusiasm of the porters of Porta del Castello animated the area of ”Wrinkles” until late at night together with many other porters who have, however, once again, written another splendid page of the Festa degli Statuti.
