The ValTurano Terra Nostra association expresses great applause for the success of the initiative of the Navegna Cervia Nature Reserve which successfully concluded a difficult path aimed at the signing of a “Collaboration Agreement” for the management of the “Il Ghiro” hostel in Marcetelli, a structure that has been “forgotten” for too long and which will now be able to contribute to enhancing the smallest municipality in Lazio which is part of the association’s scope of action on an economic, social and environmental level.
With this “Pact” a program of activities aimed at the promotion and development of the territory, environmental education and enjoyment and the social integration of the territory are thus activated through the following activities related to the management of the hostel: valorisation and promotion of the hiking networks and surrounding paths as well as traditional food and craft production; environmental education and communication; social integration; environmental sustainability; development of associations, volunteering and social and community enterprise.
The “Collaboration Agreement”, an innovative form of management of common goods implemented by the Reserve, now has as its partner the local “Mamalanda” Association led by president Sandro Sestili, which won the related tender following the public notice issued by the Institution on 21.2.23.
ValTurano thus sends a big “good luck” to the President Sandro Sestili, to all the members of the Association, to the municipal administrators, as well as thanks all those who worked concretely to achieve this important result, in particular the then president of the Reserve Giuseppe Ricci, the body’s coach Giovanni Piva, the current Commissioner Matteo Monaco.
Everything will be illustrated in an interesting conference that will be held next Saturday 18th in Marcetelli on the occasion of the inauguration of the “Il Ghiro” Hostel whose management has been entrusted, as stated above, by the Navegna Cervia Reserve to the Mamalanda Social Promotion Association .
This assignment had already been warmly welcomed by ValTurano Terra Nostra with its own press release dated 3 June last year and which is restoring prestige to a structure which has been “forgotten” for too long and which will now be able to contribute to valorising on the economic, social and environmental, the smallest municipality in Lazio which is part of the association’s scope of action.
The program on Saturday is particularly full and includes greetings from the Mayor of Marceltelli Daniele Raimondi at 11am, followed by the speech of the President of Mamalanda Aps Sandro Sestili who will illustrate the program of his association. Speakers will then include Matteo Monaco, Commissioner of the Navegna Cervia Reserve, Daniele Sinibaldi, mayor of Rieti and the regional councilors Manuela Rinaldi and Giancarlo Righini.
Subsequently, the installation and inauguration of the “Statue of Cerchiaro” is planned, created by the artist Felice Ruffini which recalls the traditional craft of the “Marcetellani”, that of the processing and creation of barrels and togas, thanks to which these artisans have made themselves known throughout central Italy.
At the end of the meeting, the new “Way of San Venanzio” will be presented, which takes its name from the Patron Saint of Marceltelli.
