For the second consecutive year Gigi Orlandini places a team at the top of the regional rankings. Mr. Morleo’s Under 12 5-a-side football team boasts the CSI regional category title. Spotless 2023/24 season by Gigi Orlandini who first won the provincial tournament and then showed off Oscar-worthy performances in the regional phases. Excellent results in the complementary tests (athletics: long jump, 60 meter dash and Vortex throw) and excellent competitions played against valid opponents.
In the quarter-finals Gigi Orlandini defeated Astuneon of Ostuni, in the semi-final they eliminated SS Annunziata in a vibrant derby and finally, in the final, they got the better of United Lecce, becoming regional Under 12 5-a-side football champion in the CSI. The record obtained in this area will allow the young footballers to participate in the national phases which will be played in Cesanatico (FC), in Emilia Romagna, in just over a month.
We feel it is right to remember that Gigi Orlandini, with the same members of today’s team, finished the national stages in third place last year and in this edition will be the only one represented to defend the colors of the province of Brindisi on Italian territory. Immense corporate congratulations to the boys, to Mr. Morleo and to the parents who have never stopped supporting anyone who took to the field, always respecting education and sportsmanship. Now rest and appointment in Cesenatico to try to improve last year’s result.
