MERCATALE (SAN CASCIANO) – Road accident in via dei Cofferi, in Mercatale, this afternoon, Sunday 12 May.
Here a boy, a minor, in the area of the sports field, where the Mercatale-Duccio Dini playout match was scheduled (at 4pm), fell from his motorbike.
It seems (but the local police officers will reconstruct what happened) that another vehicle was involved.
In the fall, the boy hit his head against a wall.
Hence the intervention of the health workers, with an ambulance from the Misericordia of Mercatale and one, with a doctor on board, from the AVG of Greve in Chianti.
The Pegaso rescue helicopter was also airborne and landed on the playing field to make boarding operations easier.
Also on site is a crew of volunteers from La Racchetta, in town to support the Chianti Classico Marathon.
Evidently postponing the start of the match. Which, in the end, was not played.
The Pegaso took flight around 4.45pm, after having brought the injured man on board.
