Tadej Pogacar won the eighth stage of the 2024 Giro d’Italia. The Slovenian pedaled with great ease on the final climb that led to Prati di Tivo, he didn’t attack but showed superior brilliance to his rivals and at the end he sprinted to take the third partial success in this edition of the Corsa Rosa. After the seals in Oropa and in the Foligno time trial, the UAE Emirates standard-bearer also excelled in Umbria and strengthened the pink jersey.
Antonio Tiberi made the Italian public dream, placing a couple of sprints in the last 1500 meters and warming the hearts of lovers of the Italian pedal. The Bahrain Victorious representative finished in fourth place behind Daniel Martinez and Ben O’Connor and moved up to sixth place in the general classification. The Italian preceded Geraint Thomas and Einer Rubio, with the young Belgian Cian Uijtdebroeks seventh.
