Primož Roglič he crashed during the third stage of Tour of the Dauphiné 2024. The Slovenian rider however managed to immediately rejoin the group and also fight for the victory at the finish line in Les Estables, which however went to the Canadian Derek Gee (Israel-Premier Tech). The captain of the Bora hansgrohe he ended the day with a tenth place, in the group of the best, and does not appear to have suffered serious injuries in the accident. Speaking to our microphones, the 34-year-old climber highlighted how tomorrow’s time trial is an important test also in view of the Tour de France, his main objective of the season.
What happened when you fell, no one saw anything
“It was a very tough start, I was at full speed and I went off the road on my own. I destroyed my shirt but I don’t feel any pain, we’ll see tomorrow and in the next few days.”
How was the ending of today’s stage?
“It was a good final, though, but I missed out a bit at the end. But we are only at the beginning and there are still many stages to face.”
Was today a suitable arrival for you or perhaps you prefer harder and more selective stages?
“I’m not a group sprinter, maybe if there was a smaller group I would have been able to finish the job. Sooner or later the hard stages will arrive.”
It felt like an even quicker finish than yesterday’s
“Yes, a very fast finish and with all the riders at a very high level. However, it’s nice to see that we’re always up front with our teammates.”
Tomorrow is the time trial, what do you expect from this stage?
“It will be nice to change bikes for a while. This fairly long time trial will be a truly excellent test. I haven’t made one yet [in questa stagione – ndr] so we’ll see how it goes.”
Will the time trial be important ahead of the Tour de France?
“Yes, definitely, there will be two time trials there and so this will be a really important test.”
