A meeting of the Alleanza Verdi Sinistra was organized to discuss the electoral campaign for the European elections together with the people in the square. The candidates, Simona Cosso and Daniele Cicale presented their ideas which aim for a Europe of rights and therefore for peace, social and environmental justice. Cosso: “Politics must put people’s interests back at the centre. Yesterday we filed a proposal in parliament for a law to modify the law on party financing which limits connections with private entrepreneurs with private interests. This system must be changed, which as we have seen with the Toti method did not reach a good point. Roberto Salis was present on behalf of his daughter Ilaria and spoke on the Europe of the future and on his daughter’s complex situation: “We need to decide whether to extend or not precautionary detention, the second instance judge must make a decision on the request we made to have house arrest in Hungary or Italy”. Salis also commented on the Toti case: “The beauty of this story is that 10 days ago I I went on the show from Floris and there was Senaldi, a person from the Brothers of Italy and President Toti and they wanted to convince me that the criminal was my daughter. Coming here I was listening to the radio and I heard that Nordio declared that he is scandalized because Toti is being questioned because someone has said that he must prove his innocence, maintaining that instead in a civil state it must be the accuser who proves his guilt, if they had done the same with Ilaria would have been more appropriate”.
