The Fire Brigade’s information campaign initiatives continue, in agreement with public and private entities, aimed at increasing the culture of safety and making people aware of the adoption of behaviors useful for preventing the onset of fires in the workplace, of study and life. On May 10th, fire brigade personnel went to the “Carlucci” comprehensive school in Baragiano, dedicating an entire morning to all the students of the three levels of primary and secondary schools in Balvano (about 150 students). The initiative was held at the “Marinella Bovino” secondary school in Balvano with demonstrations relating to rescue interventions, both in the classroom and in the courtyard in front of the school. The students were thus able to understand how incorrect behavior can sometimes lead to dangerous situations which require the intervention of fire brigade personnel and vehicles to be addressed. The primary school children were able to attend practical intervention simulations by interacting with the staff and with some work tools. The secondary school children first attended the screening of films showing various interventions characterized by the use of specialist personnel in various rescue techniques and with the aid of various types of vehicles and equipment; they were subsequently able to look more closely at some of the vehicles and equipment used. All the activities tried to stimulate curiosity in the children also to make them understand and increase awareness that “working in a team” respecting roles and skills and helping each other increases the possibility of overcoming any difficulty as well as for the police. of Fire increases the possibility of resolving the most difficult and disparate situations.
