The Spaniard wins in a 3-man sprint
Spaniard Pelayo Sanchez wins today the sixth stage of the Giro d’Italia 2024, the 180 km Viareggio-Rapolano Terme. The 24-year-old Movistar rider won a three-man sprint, ahead of the Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe (Soudal-QuickStep) and the Australian Lucas Plapp (Jayco AlUla).
Tadej Pogacar (UAE) remains pink jersey and leader of the general classification at the end of the stage characterized by 3 dirt sections. Plapp is the protagonist of an action that gives him the virtual lead in the general classification before the group recovers.
