Call to the fire brigade station to 115 and timely intervention by the Padua night service team this night between 2.30 and 3 am along the A4 motorway, between the Grisignano and Padova Ovest junctions, due to thefire of a passing car. It was – the imperfect tense in this case fits perfectly given the final outcome – a Chevrolet Camarovaluable vintage sports car, completely destroyed.
The person behind the wheel, while traveling in the direction of Venice on the A4, would have perceived an acrid smell inside the passenger compartment and, thinking of a broken down, as soon as possible he pulled over onto the emergency lane. With him was a passenger, who also got off to check the nature of the problem. Seconds later, the car caught fire.
At that point the two had no choice but to dial one of the emergency numbers, move to a safe distance and wait for help, bitterly observing the Chevrolet Camaro engulfed in flames. The car, as the pictures show, is burned in all its parts and components and what remains of it is now destined for scrapping.
On site, a few tens of meters from the border with Padua on the motorway stretch, in addition to the firefighters – forced to stay at work until 4 in the morning to make the route safe – the police officers arrived.
