“They haven’t raised the river embankment yet and refunds haven’t arrived, but at least for that day we decided to party.” It is Francesca Sirri who tells the meaning of the party they organized for Saturday 18 May. “Tin bota, Romagna” is the name of the party of the residents of via Ex Tiro a Segno, the phrase which, crossing borders, regional, national and above all linguistic, became a symbol of the wave of solidarity which, after the mud and water, invaded the streets and houses hit by the flooding of rivers and waterways. Francesca Sirri is the owner of the Champions River gym, devastated by the flood: «We still haven’t received anything – she says – they said the money will arrive soon, I hope that’s the case. It is important for us to be ready in September, when the new season begins, to be able to return to work at full speed.”

«The party was an idea born from the residents of the former Tiro a Segno street», says Sirri. A way to experience an anniversary together that is still painful for many. It will be a party in the street, for those who live there or have lived there until those days. «We have also involved the people who helped us in those days and anyone who wants to come and visit us is welcome. We organized it among ourselves, everyone will bring something and the sponsorship of Centrale del Latte helps us cover the costs.” “Bring with you a table, something to eat and drink and above all your happiness”, we read on the poster. Among those who will make their contribution, on all fronts, including that of cheerfulness, there is Sem Frontieras, a Cesena association for the enhancement and promotion of Brazilian culture, and the parish of San Rocco, an essential point of reference for families and volunteers in weeks after the flood.

For the occasion the street will be closed to traffic so that tables and chairs can be placed in the street. It starts at 7pm and there will be no shortage of music and DJ sets.
