The Taranto swing bridge opens for the passage of the first luxury yacht “made in Taranto”. This morning, as it dawned, the FB616, entirely built in the Taranto shipyards, crossed the navigable canal. The luxury boat, after the launching ceremony the other day, left the city of the two seas towards Livorno for finishing and fitting out.
The project
This first yacht represents the concrete phase of the construction project of the first hull of a mega yacht built on behalf of Azimut Benetti and entirely built by local workers in the SGM shipyards Srl. The boat is made entirely of steel and aluminum for a total weight of 220 tons and a length of 50 meters.
The construction sites
Two other mega yachts of 50 and 60 meters are currently under construction within the Taranto shipyard. The delivery of the two boats is expected between 2024 and 2025. The investment in the nautical sector on the banks of the Ionian Sea involves three different companies SGM Srl, Sea Style Company Spa and Costruzioni Generali Srl, led respectively by Maurizio Abbatematteo and Pasquale Di Napoli,
