The writing “Istituto Superiore” is crossed out by a yellow line. Taking the place of the school is the sign “Public swimming pool”. The irony of Azione Studentesca stands out at the entrance to the Liceo Majorana in via Negri in Moncalieri. The sign was placed yesterday after a raid by militants following the explosion of a water pipe which led to the flooding of a bathroom in the institute.
Under the sign there is also an inflatable plastic duck and some flip-flops.
“This action – say the militants – has the aim of highlighting a very specific and widespread problem in our city: that of insecurity in schools.”
“After the recent flooding of part of the Majorana di Moncalieri – they explain – we decided to rename the school as the new municipal swimming pool, inviting students to equip themselves with everything they need to go for a swim, rather than study.”
“As Turin Student Action – they conclude from the movement – we have been fighting for years to highlight the real problems of students, and in particular that of the pitiful conditions in schools, even if no one seems to care, because after all the only ones who lose out are the students”.
