Important recognition for the “Bio slow pane e oli” food district based in Favara, now the first Sicilian biodistrict recognized by the Sicilian region and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty. The decision came after the request presented by the Sicilian department of agriculture, rural development and Mediterranean fishing, recognizing the “Bio slow” district’s commitment to a path that starts from afar.

The district, based in Favara, brings together farmer entrepreneurs, producer associations, public and private research bodies and more than 20 local authorities who have in common the sustainable management of environmental resources thanks to organic production and respect for the territory.

“We are satisfied with the result achieved – comments the president of the biodistrict Salvatore Ciulla – for years we have been working for organic agriculture and a sustainable growth model that puts the territory, the resources and the peculiarities of our land at the centre. This recognition makes us proud and rewards our commitment and that of the communities involved in this project which continues to expand and wants to grow further. I want to thank the Department of Agriculture and the regional councilor for their sensitivity to issues related to organic agriculture and their commitment. put in to achieve this objective as well as the general manager Dario Cartabellotta for the work that led to this recognition”.
