Today, Tuesday 7 May, an autopsy was performed on the body of Julio Antonio Rosario Santos, the 36-year-old man who was found dead yesterday morning in Pavia. For his death, Fausto Baiguera is accused of voluntary homicide.
The 69-year-old is a pensioner who occasionally lived with the victim. This, in fact, helped him every now and then with the household chores. Santos, originally from the Dominican Republic, was found around 5am by some passers-by on a sidewalk on Viale Cremona, in a peripheral area of the city.
The autopsy examination confirmed what had already emerged yesterday, Monday 6 May: on the body no signs of violence were found. We will therefore have to wait for more in-depth results to shed light on the causes of death. Baiguera ended up in Torre del Gallo prison because he told the police that he had hit the man on the head at the height of an argument.

He then dragged the body out of the house. Words that only other tests will be able to confirm or deny. The 69-year-old’s build also raises some doubts: too thin to have carried him out of the house. Furthermore, no blunt object that could have caused the death of the 36-year-old was found.
In the meantime, the hearing to validate the arrest will take place in the next few days. The investigators will have to understand whether to confirm the precautionary custody in prison or choose another measure. It won’t be the only decision to make. In fact, the hypothesis of the crime could also change: from voluntary to unintentional homicide.
