Rossana Riflessothe new prefect of City of Avellino, will meet the local press tomorrow morning at 11.30. The appointment will be held in the monumental hall of mirrors, where Dr. Riflesso will have the opportunity to introduce herself to her city and province. The Council of Ministers, upon proposal of the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosiapproved the appointment of Dr. Riflesso, coming from Barletta-Andria-Trani, to carry out the functions of Prefect of Avellino. Dr. Riflesso will succeed Paola Spena, who received a new position at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. This decision was taken in view of the assignment of the role of Extraordinary Commissioner, provided for by article 6, paragraph 1, of the legislative decree of 2 March 2024, n. 19, concerning the recovery and refunctionalization of assets confiscated from organized crime. The choice to assign Rossana Riflesso the role of Prefect of Avellino was influenced by various factors, including the experience accumulated over the years and the specific skills that Doctor Riflesso will be able to put at the service of the Irpinia area.
Currently Prefect of Barletta-Andria-Trani, the 59-year-old doctor Riflesso entered the prefectural career roles in the Ministry of the Interior in 1990 with the qualification of Prefectural Councillor. You served as Vice Prefect at the Prefectures of Belluno (1990/1991), Foggia (1991/1993), Palermo (1993/2000), Bari (2001/2011), Barletta-Andria-Trani (2011) and again Bari ( 2011-2017). She became Vice Prefect with vicarious functions in 2017 in the Territorial Office of the Government of Barletta-Andria-Trani, before assuming, in October of the same year, a similar role in the Prefecture of Bari.
