“The hope in life that must always go beyond the tragedy of death”. This is the synopsis of the homily of the rector of the basilica of Sant’Ubaldo Don Giuseppe Ganassin, who together with the vice rector Don Pietro Benozzi celebrated the mass in memory of Samuel Cuffaro, who passed away exactly three years ago, on 7 May 2021, in the explosion of Via del Masaccio in the Canne Greche area together with Elisabetta D’Innocenti, with the serious injuries of Alessio Cacciapuoti and Kevin Dormicchi. A day that will sadly remain engraved in the memory of those who lived it and of the entire Gubbio community, so much so that since that day there have been and still are many testimonies of affection and closeness for Samuel’s family:
“I want to thank all these people who give us so much honor by remembering our Samuel – Samuel’s father, Gaetano Cuffaro, told TRG – and it’s a bit as if I still had him here, next to me. Now I hope that justice does its course and the judges will decide the sentences that those responsible will have to serve. These people have ruined the lives of several families, I hope that there is at least some repentance for what happened because certain things that happened really shouldn’t exist.”
This while on Thursday at the Perugia court there will be the tenth hearing of the “Green Genetics – Greenvest” trial in which the owners of the two interconnected companies, the pairs of brothers Luciano and Alessandro Rossi, Maria Gloria and Gabriele Muratori as well as the owner of the building exploded Giorgio Mosca, all accused of voluntary manslaughter with possible malice:
“The picture that is emerging from the trial – the lawyer of the Cuffaro family, Ubaldo Minelli, analyzes on TRG’s microphones – highlights a distressing violation of the most basic accident prevention regulations to protect the safety of workers. These are deaths that could and should have occurred avoid. The trial is in an advanced stage of the hearing, we have completed the hearing of the prosecutor’s witnesses, on Thursday we will begin with the civil parties, followed by the examination of the witnesses of the defendants’ defense, making a prediction, I believe that I will be there the sentence that will define the first level of judgment will be issued in 2024”
