There white foam and brown spots on the water they immediately raised suspicion; to this was added the death of fish fauna: a spill of liquids coming, probably, from a local factory, caused the loss of numerous dozens of fish in the Cragno canal between Modeano and Fraforeano up to the confluence with the Stella river.

The ones who noticed this yesterday afternoon were the sport fishermen of the fishing college 14, which covers the area of ​​Latisana and Middle Friuli; they were the ones who alerted the competent authorities: the firefighters, the Civil Protection teams and the staff of the Fish Heritage Protection Authority, together with the local police, they were informed and launched an investigation on the causes of the spill.

The fishermen, with the support of ETPI technicians, recovered the dead fish, while ARPA representatives carried out sampling to identify the nature of the substances missing and assess the environmental impact of the accident. Apparently, the authorities would already be you manage to get back up to those responsible.
