The van was carrying racing motorbikes
Last night, at approximately 10.20pm, a team from the Nereto fire brigade intervened on the A14 motorway, southbound carriageway, approximately 5 km away from the Mosciano Sant’Angelo exit, following of a van fire. The flames completely engulfed the cabin of the vehicle used by a motorcycle racing team, from which a high column of smoke was released. The two people on board, as soon as they noticed the presence of the fire, immediately got out of the vehicle as soon as it pulled over to the side of the road, managing to save the three motorbikes and part of the equipment and materials transported. Immediately afterwards they moved to a safe position. The firefighters, who arrived on site with a fire engine and an off-road vehicle with a fire-fighting module, quickly put out the fire, and then made the van safe, which was subsequently recovered by a tow truck. For the entire duration of the intervention, local traffic was guaranteed on one lane. The Porto San Giorgio Motorway Police also intervened on site to regulate traffic and fulfill their duties.
