The heterodox: face to face with Dante Bini – Meeting on site and online on Facebook | Order of Architects of Milan

It kicks off next week in Milan series of evenings dedicated to those contemporary designers who have dared to go beyond the conventional boundaries of architecture, adopting innovative methods and approaches.

The review entitled “The heterodox“, curated by Franco Raggi and Giulia Ricci, members of the CTS Cultura of the Fondazione Ordine Architetti Milano, is a rare opportunity to listen and interact directly with those who have been able to reinterpret and innovate, stimulating critical reflection on architecture and its possible evolutions.

The architects selected by the curators are linked by a red thread: theuniqueness of the works and the search for a heterodox methodwhich allowed them to overcome the traditional boundaries between disciplines.

The first appointment, scheduled for Thursday 9 May, from 6 pm, will see how hero – in dialogue with Alessandro Colombo, Carlo Dusi and Margherita Marri – Dante Bini (Castelfranco Emilia, 1932), author of the famous Antonioni Dome, in Costa Paradiso, who recently received an honorary doctorate from the Sapienza University of Rome.

Having graduated in Architecture in Florence in 1962, Bini immediately began his career research into technologies that allowed him to define automated construction systems. In 1964 he created the first dome with the construction method Binishell near Bologna, the first experiment that will lead him to the construction of more than 1500 domes in 23 countries around the world, including the holiday home designed and built in Sardinia for the director Michelangelo Antonioni and his partner Monica Vitti, built in 1969 .

Since the 1980s he has resided in the United States and holds the role of President of BiniSystems International, a company that designs and patents folding and expandable house solutions, as well as lunar stations. The other meetings will be announced soon.
