The winners were the students of classes 3 C and 3 F.
SANTA MARIA CAPUA VETERE. The 3C and 3F classes of the “Carlo Gallozzi” secondary school won the first prize of the competition organized by the “Giulio Cesare Falco” Technical Institute of Capua “EARTH DAY – THE EARTH IS FOR THOSE WHO TAKE CARE OF IT”.
The theme was “THE GEOGRAPHY OF PEOPLES”. The students chose to learn and explore the history of some of their classmates, whose families immigrated to Italy for economic reasons. They enthusiastically conceived and developed the creation of an extraordinary edition of a news program. The students were the protagonists in every phase of the creation of the television journalistic format. Organized in working groups, they created a script, the script of the reports, the search for sources for the journalistic reports and their selection, the scenographic organization, the make-up and hairstyling in the style of a television set, the direction and editing, simulating the strategies and broadcasting of a production of a journalist newspaper of a television station. A reality task that stimulated the students, through a playful commitment, to empathically identify with the experience of their COMPANIONS of ARGENTINIAN, UKRAINE, ROMANIAN origin. The project was carried out partly at school, partly outside (in the space dedicated to cultural meetings in the MONDADORI bookshop in S. Maria Capua Vetere), putting into practice that philosophy of the capacity of the educational community not to limit itself only and exclusively to “school time”. ” but to involve and accompany students in a training project. The Italian/history/geography teachers supervised the work, sharing the enthusiasm for the realization of the project conceived and implemented by the students. The students thank Principal Mingione, always available to welcome new proposals, the Director and teachers of the “Falco” Technical Institute and ECMSrl for having financed the competition.
