BRINDISI – New explosion in the Brindisi area, new investigations. Shortly after midnight on Thursday 2 May a roar woke up the residents of Corte Imperatore Adriano in Brindisi. An explosion affected a Fiat 500 L, seriously damaging its rear right side. No fire, initially the intervention of the firefighters was requested but from what we understand it was no longer necessary. No injuries and no damage to the façade of the nearby building or to other cars. Police and Carabinieri patrols went to the scene to investigate the case. The frames of some cameras installed in the area are being examined. No other details are known at the moment.
Just yesterday in the prefecture a meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security was held, requested by the new prefect Luigi Carnevale. Since Tuesday 30 April in the Brindisi area there have been episodes that cause concern and require greater checks and attention from the police and institutions. And this was decided during the meeting attended by the public prosecutor of Brindisi, Antonio De Donno, the police commissioner Giampiero Lionetti and the territorial leaders of the police forces.
On the night of April 30th, a bomb placed under a car was detonated in Torre Santa Sabina (Carovigno). On the night of May 1st, a bomb seriously damaged the shutter of a grocery store in San Pietro Vernotico. It is worth remembering that this is the fourth act of intimidation in the space of a year against the same trader. On the evening of May 1st, unknown persons started a fire on the land of a fishing company in Fasano, causing the destruction of seven vehicles.
