Piazza Affari opens positively, Friday 3 May, the Ftse Mib rises by 0.4% at the start thanks to Interpump (+1.1%), Brunello Cucinelli (+1.1%), StM (+0.8%), Ferrari (+0.8%). Intesa Sanpaolo, on the other hand, which published its accounts in the early afternoon, rose by 0.11% to 3.58 euros. However, Iveco (-1.3%) and Terna (-0.6%) fell. The spread is slightly up at 133 points.

Futures on the Eurostoxx 50 are moving slightly positive (+0.2%) at 8.25am on Friday 3 May despite the driving effect of Apple’s good accounts and the mega buyback announced of 110 billion dollars. In Asia, the Hang Seng rose by more than 1.3%, while the Japanese yen began to rise again, on the markets’ suspicion of government intervention, which however it denied.
Today is a rather full day of macro data, from unemployment in Italy and Europe, to that in the USA, up to the update on pay slips. Meanwhile, the Norwegian Central Bank will announce its rate decision.
Intesa Sanpaolo’s accounts for the first quarter are published late in the morning. Here are the Bloomberg consensus expectations for the bank led by CEO Carlo Messina.
The BTP-Bund spread, meanwhile, stands at 131 points, rising slightly pending Fitch’s decision on Italy’s rating which will be published late in the evening.
