Tense situation regarding the docking regulations at the Prefecture of Salerno. The Port Authority, Tra.Vel.Mar. and the shipping companies are involved in a conflict regarding the provisions of the ordinance of the Salerno body, led by Commander Attilio Maria Daconto.

Currently, it appears that the municipal surcharge on boarding fees from Salerno will remain in force, but there are openings from the Municipality for exemptions for workers and residents. However, the indisputable priority for the head of the Harbor Office is safety at sea, even if this entails limitations on docking in the ports of Cetara and Maiori for smaller scheduled vessels and establishes a time interval between berths.

The mediation attempts of the president of the Conference of Mayors were unsuccessful, since the provisions of the regulation will not be applied only in adverse weather and sea conditions. This could lead to consequences such as higher user fees and the end of benefits for residents.

However, there is an opening for the remodulation of the rates for the boarding tax by the City Hall, which could benefit residents and commuters who travel between the capital and the coast for work reasons.
