On the occasion of the opening of the Festival. Directions and program
The first “May of Art” is underway, the cultural festival organized by the Municipal Administration in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the De Nobili Higher Institute and the Municipality of Pentone, which will liven up the city, from north to south, from 3 to 26 May 2024 (here is the complete program https://www.comune.catanzaro.it/maggio-dellarte-2024/)
On the occasion of the opening of the festival (3 May), the establishment of the pedestrian area is planned – from Piazza Grimaldi to Piazza Cavour – from 4.00 pm to 9.30 pm. The funicular will remain open until midnight
The program of the first weekend (3-5 May)
05/03/2024 at 5.30 pm. Opening – Piazzetta della Libertà – Catanzaro Center:
1) Puccini block: performance of famous paintings accompanied by live music from the historical Puccini period by the Institute of Higher Education “G. De Nobili” ) ‑ Gala Lirico Puccini ‑ in collaboration with Adol (curated by the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Music) ‑ performance Frammenti (Fabric Embroidery) by Eva Fruci – Academy of Fine Arts of Catanzaro;
2) contemporary block: performance of famous paintings accompanied by live music from the contemporary historical period by the “G. De Nobili” – String Ensemble curated by the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Music – performance Frammenti (Fabric Embroidery) by Eva Fruci – Academy of Fine Arts of Catanzaro;
- 05/04/2024 10.30am Catanzaro Puglia seafront – Lido district – Saliceti terrace
- 1) Workshop “Leave us a saying..” which will be transformed into a poster (curated by the “G. De Nobili” Institute of Higher Education) with a Tchaikosky Trio performance and a performance by the Academy of Fine Arts of Catanzaro;
- 2) in the afternoon continuation of the workshop “Leave us a saying..” which will be transformed into a poster (curated by the “G. De Nobili” Institute of Higher Education) with musical flash mobs curated by the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Music and performances “(S ) OBJECT” by Andrea Corsello – Academy of Fine Arts of Catanzaro – workshop organized by local artists;
- 05/05/2024 at 5.30 pm Square of the multipurpose center in Via Fontana Vecchia – Catanzaro CenterPresentation of the Sabatino/Abbracciante CD by the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Music;
Following: “The imaginative story of Esperer”, dramaturgy and direction by Antonio Damasco, with Laura Conti, Maurizio Verna and Antonio Damasco. In collaboration with “Edizione Straordinaria”.
PEDESTRIAN ISLAND: from 2.00 pm to 9.30 pm establishment of a parking ban with removal zone on both sides on Corso Mazzini in the stretch between the intersection with via Jannoni (Banco di Napoli) and piazza Cavour (Police Headquarters);
from 4.00 pm to 9.30 pm establishment of Pedestrian Area in the stretch between the intersection with via Jannoni (Banco di Napoli) and piazza Cavour (Police Headquarters);
Vehicle traffic from via Jannoni and Corso Mazzini will be diverted to via Menniti Ippolito.
