The Municipality of Bagheria intervenes promptly after part of the plaster detached from the Castronovo school yesterday.

Yesterday, May 1st, probably during the night, the Castronovo school suffered the detachment of a part of the plaster on the façade overlooking the sports pitch.
The municipal administration, with the director of Public Works, the engineer Giovanni Lascari, the councilor for Public Education and the surveyor Sciortino, intervened immediately following the call from the school director.
The children were allowed to enter school only after an inspection by technicians who confirmed that there were no safety problems inside the building, in order to reassure parents and school staff.
The municipal administration, in any case, ensures that all the necessary safety measures have been adopted and that at the moment there is no danger.
The firefighters also intervened on site and started working to assess the extent of the damage and establish the causes of the collapse. Educational activities will be able to continue because the area is not among those frequented by young students and has been made safe.

The safety of students and teaching staff is the top priority, which is why the municipal technicians intervened promptly to ensure that they were safe and to start, within their scope of competence, the investigations necessary to understand the causes of this detachment of plaster.

The City will continue to work closely with the relevant authorities and school management and will provide further updates as they become available.
