Ready to go and the first two points are red and white, then the plus 4, the 6/7 for the guests then Trentin from three for the 9/7, it’s a start along the lines of the match played in the first leg, in Saronno, at a pace already very supported from the first minute. Score that rises in balance until 13/13 in the sixth minute of the game, then Burgalassi scores the triple of plus 3, Trentin again from three, Simonetti from below and Burgalassi again for 24/18 with 50 seconds to go, closing the fourth Barsanti with one of his bombs on 27/18.
A second quarter with a slow pace, with the opponent’s iron being a little too spiteful, while Saronno seems to have made some sort of agreement with the red and white basket, the score being 3/9 after four minutes of play in the second half of the match. Tempestini tries to sweeten the basket with a triple, but Saronno doesn’t stand by and replies with Nasini for the tie at 36/36, then Tempestini again to score the 39/38, just over two minutes after the long break, when Negri brings Saronno ahead by one point 39/40, again from free throws for the Biancoceleste plus 2, Pierini in percussion goes to the basket twice for the new advantage which the guests once again recover from free throws, finally Trentin from below for 45/43
The second half sees Bcl continue in attack, Burgalassi, Trentin and Del Debbio shake the net, then a great Pierini brings Bcl to plus 7 to five from the third siren. For Saronno Beretta is forced to leave the field due to injury. For the Bcl Pierini leads the team with baskets, to give him support there is also Tempestini who hits with pinpoint precision from distance, Burgalassi and Trentin, all in double figures to close the third period on 73/65
Last quarter of a match that Bcl is playing masterfully, increasing its advantage over a Saronno team that was not expecting such a strong and characterful response as the one that Olivieri’s boys are showing on the parquet of the sports hall. 84/65 what we read on the scoreboard, thanks to a superb performance by Barsanti, who scored 10 points in 4 minutes of play. This evening Bcl is digging a huge furrow, with a 24 point lead with 4 remaining, then we know well that basketball always reserves surprises, but not this evening. One minute and 53 minutes until the final siren and a score of 95/74, now no longer recoverable, Bcl evens the score with this match and goes on to play the beautiful match on Saturday 4th in Saronno. Final at Palatagliate 97/79 at the end of a more than exciting, spectacular match!!
