APRILIA – An accident occurred yesterday afternoon in Aprilia in the hamlet of Campoverde, in via Mediana Cisterna. The toll is dramatic: one person died and four were injured. According to the reconstruction, a Peugeot 308 with five people on board, all of foreign origin, suddenly went off the road and hit a pole along the road. An impact that left one of the vehicle’s occupants with no escape, who was thrown from the passenger compartment and died instantly. Four other people, two women and two men, were seriously injured and transported by 118 to the hospitals in Aprilia and Latina. Local police officers from Aprilia, the Carabinieri and the firefighters intervened on site to carry out the investigations. The dynamics of the accident remain to be reconstructed, although from initial investigations the cause could be a mix of high speed and wet asphalt.
