DESENZANO DEL GARDA. Completely drunk, he first urinated in public and then heavily damaged the emergency room of the Desenzano hospital and subsequently once transferred in the barracks, he went into a rage again, causing further damage and forcing the doctors to perform a second sedation

The protagonist of a few hours of ordinary madness was a 23-year-old tourist of Austrian nationality, reported for resistance and for trying to attack the health workers.

It all started a few days ago in the emergency room of the Desenzano hospital where the 23-year-old arrived in a state of profound psycho-physical alteration due to alcohol intake. After “committed extensive damage inside the hospital centre, disturbing the regular functioning of the department and making rescue activities difficult” we read in the official note of the New Carabinieri Union (NSC), the young man was stopped by the Radiomobile police who intervened, sedated and transported to the barracks to be reported.

Once he arrived at the barracks, however, he again completely lost control, causing damage to the structure, punching and headbutting walls and a door. At that point the request for intervention from a doctor was triggered to proceed with further sedation.

“So, about half an hour after the request – continues the official note from the union –, an ambulance arrived and only following insistence on the part of the rescue crew, as well as the operating soldiers, did a doctor intervene and administer a further dose of sedative to the arrested man, who was in a state of agitation, proceeding with the transport and hospitalization. The regional emergency agency significantly delayed the medical intervention, jeopardizing the safety of the soldiers of the force, of the barracks and of the arrested person.”
