The request of Municipality of Bobbio of renewal of the concession of the state-owned area used as an area equipped for parking campers was rejected by Arpae. Attached to the “no” from via Ventuno Aprile, there is the reference to the 2021-2027 flood risk management plan.
To oppose, the mayor of Bobbio Roberto Pasquali commissioned a hydraulic engineer, Omar William Cella, to prepare what is technically called “Study of the local hydraulic hazard and risk conditions of the camper area associated with the water regime of the Trebbia river”. Cost, 5 thousand euros.
For his part, Pasquali underlines how, compared to the 2015 flood, the Region has redone the bank defense of San Martino, with a barrier of boulders, and the Municipality has invested in the area by equipping it with a safe access system, with cameras always active.
The area has around 10 thousand campers per year; in 2015 it ended up underwater in the flood and a retired couple was saved by the firefighters.
