CANAVESE – 365 investigation files for accidents at work. One a day only in 2023. This is the picture that emerges from the data of the Ivrea prosecutor’s office today, May 1st, Labor Day. Unfortunately, there are still many accidents involving workers in this area. Unfortunately, an increase compared to previous years: in 2022 there were 319.

The overall investigation files on safety in the workplace are more than double: 884. These include, up to October, 73 cases of deaths (including those caused by occupational diseases) and 481 cases of negligent injuries in work environments. I work in the territory of the Ivrea prosecutor’s office. Among the categories most affected by accidents are workers of external companies who are involved in accidents while engaged in subcontracting.

Unfortunately, the number of Spresal inspectors employed by the ASL To4 also contributes to making the phenomenon even less easy to manage, which is stuck at 23 with just two doctors on duty. A circumstance that does not favor, as has long been requested by the unions, preventive controls in activities and a greater diffusion of good practices to guarantee safety at work.
