Beko, Urso sees the unions: “Working for a meeting between the company and the unions by June”

At least five or six months to have the industrial plan for the Italian sites ready: this is what Beko would have said to the Ministry of Business. And Minister Urso today communicated this to the national unions of Fim Cisl, Fiom Cgil, Uilm, UglM.

For the acronyms, it is “a long time, especially due to the pre-existing delay in terms of investments of the old property”. The request is therefore to obtain a “meeting with the company in a short time frame”, before drafting the plan. Urso, the acronyms report, would have given his availability to arrange a table by the month of June.

The minister and the undersecretary Fausta Bergamotto “specified us that they had reminded” Beko “of the constraints of the golden power for the protection of the Italian factories and that they had acquired the availability of the new ownership for a meeting with the trade union parties in an institutional setting – the unions continue. Urso underlined that failure to appeal against the golden power provision would indirectly imply its acceptance”.

During the meeting, Urso reiterated the strategic nature of the supply chain: “a sector that must be protected and relaunched. Today it was important to listen to the representatives of the workers who work in those factories that are so significant for the sector. Here – he continued – we undertake to propose to the company a meeting with the unions, to give them the opportunity to discuss the production status of the plants and the market. Meeting that could take place within the month of June”.
