San Gemini, couple scammed with fake accident but the police frame the two young people from Campania

SAN GEMINI – “Your son caused a bad accident, hit a woman and is in the hospital emergency room, come immediately.”

The fake marshal of the weapon stay on the phone with the old woman of San Gemini who runs to the “Santa Maria” while the fake lawyer calls the woman’s husband and asks him for 20 thousand euros to compensate the victim of the accident who is dying.

This time the two scammers have a bad fight because i carabinieri from the San Gemini stationalerted by the old woman who became suspicious because her son wasn’t there in the emergency room, they manage to give them a name and report them.

It is a 24 years old with specific precedents and a twenty years old with no criminal record, both from the province of Caserta, reported for fraud in competition.

The scam takes place on the morning of April 11th and is one of the textbook ones. The fake marshal is still in action and calls the woman, tells her about the accident of her son who hit a person and invites her to rush to the Terni hospital.

The skilled scammer, as always happens, also gets the lady’s husband’s mobile number while she is away from home the elderly spouse is called by the fake lawyer.

His tone is professional and convincing, he asks for 20 thousand euros to compensate the victim of the investment and the man doesn’t think about it even for a moment. He quickly puts jewelry and cash in an envelope which he hands over to the fake lawyer who joined him at home.

It is his wife who senses the deception. Her son is not in the hospital and when she discovers that her husband has handed over gold and money she calls 112. The investigations by the local military make use of the images shot by a private camera which immortalized the car’s license plate rented by the two from Campania. The fake lawyer is recognized by the victim and complaints are filed against him and his “colleague”.

Now it’s a hunt for accomplices, with the police warning citizens put to the test by scammers: «Always be wary from requests for money or goods to be delivered to self-styled lawyers or members of the force given that, in no case, are bails provided for the release of people possibly involved in alleged criminal activities. Never open the door of your home to strangers, immediately check with your relatives for any news arriving from fake lawyers or marshals and call 112″.
