SUMIRAGO – «This is neither an argument nor a breakup. It may simply happen that we have different opinions on some things, each of us can decide to choose where to vote.” As Pasquale D’Alessiomunicipal councilor of Melons – We for Sumirago explained, today, Tuesday 30 April, the votes he expressed in thelast municipal council.
During the assembly on two items on the agenda – the motions presented for the establishment of a temporary municipal commission for urban safety and public meetings to combat fraud – he preferred a position of abstention compared to the favorable one of the group leader Stefano Romano.
A divergence that has opened a series of questions on the compactness of the Melonian group and on‘effective leadership of Romano. It should be underlined that, in the same civic assembly, even the League did not vote in favor of the motions in question, another choice that widens the distances within the center-right with a view to possible electoral alliances.
A softer line
«Romano clearly prepares himself in view of the advice but sometimes he decides his line on his own we only learn certain things at the end. While instead in the our Sumirago chat we carry forward reflections that can even lead to opposing ideas, as in this case. In short, we did not agree on certain aspects. Knowing the problems of the Municipality we opted for a softer position, it is useless to always attack for the same things that are not easy to have». In other words: he decides by excluding the Brothers of Italy militants.

For D’Alessio in some cases regarding safety “the most focused answer” was not provided: for example, “the neighborhood watch was not as effective as we hoped. There was some theft and attempts even in the streets where it was established; Furthermore, neighbors often mind their own business and don’t call the police. It doesn’t work as it should and we haven’t seen the results. So it’s not the priority. We prefer controls by the Carabinieri and local police and, in light of what has been illustrated by the councillor Lucky Teethlet’s hope for strengthening of video surveillance».
The meeting on hunting with Pietro Fiocchi
There was further distancing on the social page SumiragoBlog for the meeting on Tuesday 7 May at Villa Molino with Pietro Fiocchi: «In Sumirago we were not notified and not even the management knew anything about it Brothers of Italy in Gallarate. The MEP acted on his own initiative and, together with the president of the dedicated local association, who brought the request to the Municipality, the event was presented as a conference on hunting, not as a political appointment. We didn’t know anything about it and it wasn’t something that could interest us politically; in our opinion Fiocchi he made a mistake in placing the party symbol on the poster.
