The 10th Gino Zago Tournament begins: Youth football in Bojon kicks off with a great show

The sporting community of Bojon di Campolongo Maggiore is ready to kick off the 10th Gino Zago Tournament, an event that not only celebrates youth talent in football, but pays homage to the memory of an unforgettable figure, “Gino Zago”. The appointment is set for Friday 3 May at 8.00 pm at the Bojon sports center, with an opening match between the home team and Dolo1919Pianiga.

This regional tournament, dedicated to the Youth category, has established itself over the years as a crucial showcase for young football talents. With impressive numbers that confirm it, the tournament sees the participation of 16 teams divided into 4 groups, with 32 evening matches scheduled. With over 400 players on the pitch, supported by 50 managers and coaches, and with the contribution of 108 sponsors, the event promises to be a success.

The participating teams include important names such as Padova Fc, Galaxy Mira, and GS Duomo, just to name a few. Each of these teams brings with them a history and reputation in the regional football landscape, representing a diverse range of talents and skills.

The competition will take place over the course of several weeks, with the group stage concluding on May 29th and the quarter-finals starting on May 31st. The semi-finals will take place on June 5th, while the finals and awards will be held on June 8th.

To add further excitement to the event, before the opening match on 3 May, there will be a show organized by the host club. During this show, the young athletes will color the playing field with flags and silhouettes, accompanied by music, to give a touch of liveliness and dynamism to the tournament. Illustrious guests will also be present, including the Mayor of the Municipality of Campolongo Maggiore, Mattia Gastaldi, and the provincial delegate of the FIGC, Giancarlo Muriotto.

The show will end with a moment of national union, with the Italian anthem performed by the talented singer and composer Federica Miotto, a native of our municipality.

The president of ASD Bojon, Donato Colbird, expressed his gratitude for the community’s support and enthusiasm for the start of the tournament. Everyone is invited to participate in this extraordinary event which celebrates the competitive spirit and friendship in youth football.
