Volleyball Sir Susa Vim Perugia is Italian champion for the second time. And Fano is celebrating too. In fact, the coach Angelo Lorenzetti is from Fano and has become a real guarantee of success for the teams that are lucky enough to have him sitting on the bench.
Perugia hadn’t brought home the tricolor since 2018. However, with commitment and a lot of heart, Lorenzetti’s boys managed to beat the revelation Mint Vero Volley Monza. The Perugians therefore concluded a memorable season, having brought home – in addition to the Super League – also the Super Cup, the Club World Cup and the Italian Cup.
A result made possible above all by Lorenzetti, the first Italian coach to win the scudetto in four different cities, surpassing Gian Paolo Montali, who had ‘stopped’ at three titles with three different teams. Before Perugia, in fact, Lorenzetti had also lifted the trophy in Modena in 2002, in Piacenza in 2009 and in Trento in 2023. In between there was also an encore with the Modena team in 2016. Lorenzetti has therefore won five championships: better than him , at eight, only Franco Anderlini and Daniele Bagnoli.
