The association Together We Can – Aps with the technical collaboration of the ASD Atletica Podistica San Gavino and the approval of the Italian Sports Center, the May 18, 2024 at 5:00 pm invites everyone to a recreational-motor walk to raise awareness of Ovarian Cancer.
The walk, initially scheduled for May 1st, was postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
It is a 4 kilometer non-competitive, free-paced recreational-motor walk, without rankings, open to all. The meeting place is the May 18, 2024 at 5.00 pm at Rolandi Park in San Gavino Monreale.
“The initiative of the Ovarian Cancer Awareness Walk – explains Giusy Atzoripresident of the Insieme Si Gioca association – was born from the need to give voice to those who have not managed to fight this silent tumor, to those who still fight it today and want to spread knowledge of this rather complex neoplasm, which is difficult to diagnose at an early stage. The symptoms are not easily recognizable as they manifest themselves with generic symptoms, similar to other pathologies. The invitation is to undergo regular checks and screening programs in order to safeguard our health.”
The event is also aimed at supporting a fundraiser to be donated partly to the “Sardinian Association for Research in Gynecological Oncology Onlus” and partly for the purchase of an ultrasound machinein order to guarantee free screening programs.
