Gaza. Israel offers “generous” truce in exchange for hostage release. Hamas’s response today

Israel has offered Hamas a 40-day ceasefire and the release of “potentially” thousands of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of Israeli hostages still in Gaza

The British Foreign Minister, David Cameron, made this known yesterday during a meeting of the World Economic Forum in Riyadh. The Palestinian organization was made “a very generous offer of an extended 40-day ceasefire, the release of potentially thousands of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of these hostages,” Cameron said.

An Israeli delegation will arrive in Cairo today for further talks on the hostages, while Israel awaits Hamas’ response on the proposal to release hostages in exchange for the 40-day truce. “We are still waiting for Sinwar’s response,” said an Israeli source, quoted by the Walla website, referring to the Hamas leader in Gaza.

According to sources cited by Channel 12, quoted by the Times of Israel, the Israeli government has included “drastic” concessions in the offer to Hamas, and an agreement could be reached quickly if Hamas renounces its demand for an end to the war and a complete withdrawal of forces Israelis from Gaza.
