“Artisan for a day”, starting with the workshops of the second weekend of “Shapes and Colors”

VITERBO – Become a craftsman for a day with the Faber Experience proposed again this year at Forme e Colori, the artistic craftsmanship exhibition organized by CNA Viterbo and Civitavecchia in collaboration with the Carivit Foundation.

From Friday 3 May until Sunday 5 May the garden of the Tuscia Ceramics Museum will be the stage for free themed workshops, which were sold out last weekend.

During the experiences there will be the opportunity to meet the artisans, listen to their stories and experiment with the creation of an artefact that you can take with you at the end of the workshop.

We start on Friday 3 May at 4pm with Maria Grazia Gradassai, owner of the artistic glassmaking company Studio D’Arte Bell’Ornato in Civita Castellana. Maria Grazia with Playing with the shapes and colors of glass will guide the participants in the creation of a colorful glass mosaic.

We then continue on Saturday 4 May, again at 4pm, with the Art of Upholstery curated by Ivano and Jacopo Menghini, who with the aid of jute canvas straps, springs, needle and waxed thread, will illustrate the padding technique to the participants of a 19th century style chair.

Closing this second weekend of artistic craftsmanship will be Lucia Maria Arena of Antica Legatoria Viali, a historic company from Viterbo. Accompanied by the craftsman, you will have the opportunity to create a notebook used in medieval times to record measurements and purchasing lists.

For all the other scheduled workshops, you can book by consulting the website: wwww.mostraformeecolori.it

The competition exhibition at the Ceramics Museum, in Palazzo Brugiotti, in via Cavour 67, is open from Thursday to Sunday at the following times: from 10am to 1pm and from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. Entrance is free.
